How to get an apostille on a medical certificate?
Living abroad, Ukrainians are periodically required to provide documents that were previously issued in Ukraine. Often these are medical documents, for example, certificate 082/o, which confirms that a person does not have serious diseases.
The feature is in 2 points:
- the certificate is issued in Ukrainian, therefore, it requires translation into the state language of the country for which it is issued;
- ukrainian documents acquire legal force abroad after receiving an apostille stamp.
Where can a Ukrainian get an apostille on a medical certificate?
According to international agreements, an apostille is placed in the country where the document was issued. That is, you cannot get a stamp in the countries of the European Union. The procedure cannot be completed at the consulate or embassy of Ukraine.
To apostilize a certificate, you need to contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The stamp is placed after passing the verification, which confirms the identity of the persons and organizations who/that signed and stamped. Only with an apostille a document comes into legal force abroad.
